TradingView is a brilliant web-based trading platform. The platform is easily accessible for Australian traders and there’s an excellent selection of brokerage options for Australian TradingView users.

In this post, I will explain how TradingView Australia users can signup for a account, the platform costs for Australian residents, plus a fully researched list of available brokers, markets and exchanges that Australians can access.

Can I use TradingView in Australia? 

Yes, TradingView is generally accessible in many regions including Australia. 

TradingView can be universally accessed through its website Tradingview.com. Additionally, it can be accessed on smartphones through its mobile app. 

TradingView is a browser-based trading platform with a community of over 30 million traders around the world. Its charts and analysis tools are its main product offering. 

It doesn’t directly offer trading services. Instead, TradingView connects customers with partner brokerage firms to service the trading and data side. 


This post will talk about how Australians can maximize TradingView services.

How much does TradingView cost for Australian users?

TradingView subscription costs for Australian users is the same as the US and all other regions. 

Prices for subscriptions will be in US dollars ($).

What Brokers can I use with TradingView living in Australia?

Traders from Australia can connect their brokers in TradingView – provided that it is an accredited broker by the platform. Integrating your broker will grant access to advanced features like live trading right from the platform. 

This section will take a deep dive on the available TradingView-accredited brokers to traders living in Australia. The list will be divided into 3 asset classes: forex, stocks, and futures. 

A number of the brokers on the list are US-based. It’s possible for Australian citizens to open an account with these brokers – I will touch on this with each broker. 

How have we created this list

TradingView has a list of accredited brokers. Because this post is specific to TradingView Australia users. We painstakingly checked each brokerage to confirm what brokerages support Australian users. 

We’ve checked broker websites. If this information is not available we have attempted to contact each Broker via email or live chat.

Forex and CFD Brokers available for TradingView Australia users

As of writing, there are more TradingView-accredited forex brokers available to Australian traders compared to stocks and futures.  See them below:  

FXCM

UK-based FXCM is a popular choice for global traders due to its presence in many large markets. 

FXCM also offers access to many trading platforms like Trading Station, NinjaTrader, MetaTrader.

FXCM does not cover the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Oanda is a globally recognized forex broker that also offers platform access to MT4 and MT5.

Forex.com

Tickmill

Tickmill is home to over 150,000 traders in over 200 countries. Tickmill promotes MetaTrader as its primary trading platform for its clients. But can be integrated with TradingView.

It also offers a comprehensive suite of trading tools which includes third party tools from Autochartist (offers technical tools and scanners), myfxbook (offers copy trading) as well as good-to-have tools like forex calculators and economic calendar. 

Tickmill also holds a library of educational resources – webinars, seminars, ebooks, video tutorials, etc.

Tiger Brokers 

Tiger Brokers offer a one-stop shop for online trading in global exchanges – only one account for all your global trading. Tiger Brokers is a multi-regulated broker. 

Tiger is known to offer one of the lowest commissions – mostly less than a fraction of 1%. Trading Australian stocks is charged with a minimum 0.03% plus just an additional platform fee of 0.07%.

How to get ASX data on TradingView? 

TradingView does not offer ASX data freely. A data package of this exchange must be purchased from its store. 

To purchase and access Tradingview real time data requires a Pro+ plan.

Here’s a quick tutorial on how to do this:

Step 1: Signup for TradingView Pro+ plan here.

Step 2: Go to the TradingView available markets here. Here you can view all the available exchanges and pricing.

Step 3: Below Click ‘Subscribe to Real-Time Markets’.

Step 4: Select billing cycle > Under Market Data, tick ASX > complete billing requirements.

How do I change TradingView to AUD?

TradingView Chart Currency Display

By default, the TradingView price chart will be in the home currency of that particular exchange.

Follow these steps to see the currency being used on the chart: 

Step 1: Open your chart > Click the gear icon (settings) on the top right 

Step 2: Click Scales > Tick Currency 

The currency will be displayed on the top right, above the prices (Y axis)

TradingView Brokerage Account Currency

The currency of your TradingView brokerage account that is displayed in the account panel at the bottom of your chart. Is determined by what currency of your brokerage account is funded. This can’t be changed within TradingView. Some brokerage firms in the list above offer brokerage accounts in AUD.

TradingView Paper Trading Account Currency

By default the TradingView paper trading is always set for USD. This can’t be changed. Any fees and commisions are converted into USD several times daily at the current exchange rate.
